Natural Fibers
Natural Fibers is making use of elephant dung to create gift wrap paper and elephant dung paper for artists or art students. This is truly a recycled paper, made at Maetang Elephant Park
Hello. I would like to introduce NATURAL FIBERS and myself Mary C. Tevlin. I am a retired art teacher of thirty-two years. My nephew and I have formed the company, Natural Fibers. It is unique in that the paper created is totally Recycled.
It is fifty percent Saa bark (mulberry tree in Thailand) and fifty percent elephant dung! The product is a superior, fibrous, textured art paper.
The ancient hand dipping process is used to make this totally recycled paper.
A percentage of the sale of this unique paper helps save the Asian elephant from extinction. The paper is made in Thailand at the Maetang Elephant Park. The Saa bark and elephant dung are boiled separately to break down the fibers. Then they are couched together to bind the fibers. The fibers are placed in a vat to be hand dipped. The process is unique making the textured paper great for many art forms.
Artist and art students can use Elephant Dung paper with a variety of mediums. This product can be used for printing, drawing, paper mache, bookbinding, and many cultural units of study.
